2009 MEETING SCHEDULE
Regular Homeless Coalition meetings are Bi-Monthly on the last Monday of the month from 12:00 – 1:30 pm in the basement of DHS
Data Committee: last Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Summit Pointe
Prevention: 3rd Friday at 8:30 a.m.-basement of DHS
IST: 4th Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the Haven

| On May 20, 2009, President Obama
signed into law the HEARTH Act, which is making several
key changes to funding for homeless services. The
HEARTH Act changes may be implemented as soon as October
1, 2010, but no later than October 1, 2011. MSHDA,
however, is taking a pre-emptive approach and has
already begun changing the ESG program here in
Michigan. Please click on the links below to review the summaries of the HEARTH Act and the draft version of the ESG NOFA that the Homeless Coalition of Greater Battle Creek and Calhoun County will be applying for by mid-February. On October 10th, 2009, the Homeless Coalition of Greater Battle Creek and Calhoun County worked with other agencies to help provide a cleaner, safer environment for homeless individuals that choose to live under local bridges. These pictures show the difference that a caring, collaborating community can make.
